Daniel F. Hoyos Isaza of Santa Clarita, a non-student, turned himself into UCLA police and was arrested about 12:30 p.m., according to UCLA police and L.A. County jail records.
Hoyos is enrolled as a student at CSUN, but is not linked to burglary and attempted sexual assault that occurred over the weekend at the Northridge campus, according to the Los Angeles Times.
He was wanted in connection with an attempted sexual assault that occurred about 2:30 a.m. Friday, outside Rieber resident hall, according to UCLA police.
The suspect, who police now say was Hoyos, allegedly grabbed a female student from behind and attempted to sexually assault her. The attack was interrupted by two witnesses and the suspect fled the scene.
He was described as a light-skinned male, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds and between 20 and 25 years old. He also had brown hair and a thin mustache, according to police. On-campus photos of the alleged suspect were released by police and allegedly match Hoyos, according to authorities.
Hoyos was transported to Los Angeles County jail where he was being held in lieu of $1.13 million bail. He is due in court at the LAX Superior Courthouse for arraignment on Oct. 8, according to jail records.
