2 Sought in Chatsworth Motorcycle Scam

A pair of thieves rely on identity theft to buy a motorcycle in Chatsworth.

Authorities are looking for a man and a woman that used information retrieved from acts of identity theft to buy a motorcycle in Chatsworth, one of several similar crimes they committed, the Daily News reports.

The suspects bought a Kawasaki ZX10 from Wheels in Motion in Chatsworth with documentation from a woman that lives 200 miles north.

"They knew what they needed. They had a driver’s license, a social security number, an electrical bill, paystubs. They even had checks with her name on them,” said Det. Doug Prentiss of the Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention told the Daily News.
