15-Foot-Deep Sinkhole Develops in Northridge

It appears much smaller at street level.

A small but deep sinkhole has developed in Northridge.

It was first reported near the intersection of Reseda Boulevard and Lassen Street around 9 p.m. yesterday and was caused by a sewer line collapse, according to broadcast reports.

The sinkhole appeared to measure only two feet by two feet at street level but was 15 feet deep, a news videographer reported from the scene.
