Hernandez says that she would love to become Miss CA Latina so that she can represent her culture and background. She thinks it would be an honor and privilege to be able to hold the title of Miss CA Latina. She also wants to become Miss CA Latina so that she can be more involved with her community and so that she can be able to give back to her community and help in anything that she is able to.  Hernandez says she would love to become Miss CA Latina because she has always wanted to make an impact in a person’s life and she believes that all of the previous Miss CA Latina’s serve as role models for young women and she thinks that in itself is huge. Hernandez would love to be able to be a role model for woman and be able to represent Latinas everywhere.

Her life ambition is to become a fashion journalist.  She wants to be a fashion and entertainment reporter. Her ultimate goal is to start a fashion magazine or TV talk show where she can style girls of all ages and sizes and show the different ways of how woman can dress according to their age and body shape. Besides style tips she would also want to give tips on living a healthy, positive and clean life. Hernandez says she thinks that the media today portrays a certain look and it makes some women think that they have to look a certain way in order to be successful or be seen as pretty or to even fit in.  She would love to someday change that because she thinks that we were all made different so that we can embrace our beauty and be happy in our own skin without having to look a certain way or change how you look.

Hernandez says that she wants to share her life and lessons with every young girl to help them see that true beauty is within oneself. She believes that it’s not easy to be a young girl in today’s society with the pressures of peers as well as the media. Hernandez believes that we need more role models who can show by example that a girl does not have to be perfect to be beautiful, that a girl does not have to look or dress a certain way to feel beautiful. Beauty is in the perception of the person’s eye.

The reason she chose to be a part of the Miss California Latina pageant is because it is an amazing organization that promotes beauty without perfection, beauty from the uniqueness of our culture and skin, and beauty from our different minds and soul. Hernandez believes that every girl should have the opportunity to look up to someone like herself. She would proudly want to be Miss California Latina to teach girls pride in their unique beauty and to be happy and healthy in their own skin without the pressures of today’s society.
