CSUN Responds to Report on Campus Crime

"Cal State Northridge continues to take very seriously its obligations," police chief says.

Editor:

We would like to clarify the report from the California State Auditor regarding California State University, Northridge's compliance with the Clery Act as it appeared in your publication on Oct. 16.

In one case, two non-Clery Act crimes were reported, thus over-stating the actual number of reportable crimes. In the other, three university policy statements were incomplete. Both reporting errors have long since been corrected and Cal State Northridge continues to take very seriously its obligations under the Clery Act to report crimes on campus.
