Seniors Dine and Dance the Night Away

Northridge Recreation Center is filled with music.

More than 290 area seniors filled the Friday evening for dinner and dancing to begin the summer season.

The event was sponsored by the Senior Services Business Council of the North Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and area Neighborhood Councils.

It leads into Saturday's at the park, 18300 Lemarsh St., which will feature live music and dance performances by Valley-based groups and kids, gourmet food trucks featuring delicious fresh hot food, and more than 50 booths from Neighborhood Councils and community-based organizations and local businesses.

At sundown, Councilmember Mitch Englander will host a free outdoor screening of the animated family film Puss in Boots as part of his free outdoor summer film series Movies Under the Stars, now in its seventh year. Community members are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnics. BBQs and alcohol are not allowed.
