Angels starting pitcher and Northridge native Jared Weaver threw the second major-league no-hitter in less than two weeks when he drove down the Minnesota Twins Thursday, 9-0.
The All-Star right-hander struck out nine and walked one, according to the Associated Press.
Weaver, who was drafted out of Cal State Long Beach in 2004, grew up in Simi Valley and attended Simi Valley High School.
"I'm at a loss for words right now. It hasn't kicked in yet," Weaver said. "Thank you for all your support. Couldn't have done it without the defense. The guys were picking me up left and right."
