Putting Your Loot on the Fruit

Time for Apple to buy the Dodgers, i-Think.

Now that the Dodgers and Major League Baseball have come to an agreement to sell the Dodgers, all sorts of valuations are hitting the airwaves with a low of $80 million to a high of $1.2 billion for the ball club and the venerable confines of 'Blue Heavan' and adjacent parking lots.  Lots of names have been bandied about, including Mark Cuban, the owner of the  Mavericks and last year's bidder on the Texas Rangers.  Perhaps the sale of the Dodgers could be used to bring in some off shore money from companies with large cash reserves such as Apple.  Apple has a reported $87 billion in cash, so a billion here or there for the Dodgers might make sense.

If Apple were to buy the Dodgers just think of all the Apple improvements coming into Chavez Ravine.  There will be the i-Bats and i-Balls which will come with lots of apps, such as a free agent slugger app or a proven closer app for those one run games.  We can get rid of the souvenir stands and just have Apple Stores at the stadium where you can buy your Matt Kemp i-Phone replete with Rianna songs or you can buy your Clayton Kershaw i-pad 22 which will have a game of throwing doughnuts instead of 'Dirty Birds.'  The eats include the i-dog which will come as an 8 GB or 16 GB dog in a bun.

Apple will have enough spare money to buy talent as well.  Just think, we could then afford Prince Fielder and Albert  Puljos along with a whole lot of pieces of the puzzle to resurrect our memories of 1988 glories.  Vin will provide us with i-Cast of Dodger games which you can hear on you iPod and iPhone4s which will then allow you to buy cool Dodger gear at the iStore.  It certainly makes sense for Apple to buy the Dodgers and with Apple's marketing, convert the Dodgers from a money loser into a money maker.  So farewell Frank McCourt, so long Fox, we hardly knew ya and lets usher in the iDodgers for 2012.  Viva Las Manzanas de Los Angeles.
