Imagine; a machine that can generate 3 million pounds of thrust and NOT rip itself apart in the process?
Hopefully, at least one of them can be saved. The problem will not end up being contamination, it will be the expense. Stabilizing them and keeping up on ongoing maintainance will be expensive.
Finding the money to run a National Park will be a challenge. There are possibilities.
