We're Northridge-Chatsworth Patch!

Whether you are in Northridge, Chatsworth or Porter Ranch, we're glad you're here.

Notice anything different? We hope so -- and we hope you’re as excited about it as we are! As of today, we are expanding our coverage area to include Northridge! We’ll now be featuring all the latest news, information and local business listings from both communities. Because so many of our readers live in Chatsworth but work or otherwise spend time in Northridge, it was just good common sense to build on our existing coverage area. Plus, who doesn’t want to know what’s going on just a few miles away?!

That goes for Porter Ranch, too. We've been highlighting news there all along and will continue to do so.

Don’t worry: We'll still offer the same robust coverage of everything happening in Chatsworth.  But now we’ll be on top of the things that matter to residents of Northridge, too. As always, if you think we're missing anything, let us know!

No matter where you live or work, here's how to participate in Northridge-Chatsworth Patch:

Yea...I live in Porter Ranch and have been reading the Chatswoth Pacth for the past year and I'm excited that you'll now be covering news from Porter Ranch & Northridge. You have a great little paper and I am happy we'll be included. Thank you!
chris April 17, 2012 at 03:54 PM
I have been reading the Chatsworth Patch for a while now and I am thrilled to have Northridge included! Good luck. Chris from Northridge

So glad to see Northridge added to your coverage area. It makes lots of sense.

You should just put Chatsworth Northridge Patch first. I liked when we had our own paper. It made the city of Chatsworth feel special. I don't want to see the city of Chatsworth in second. When you did this you made us feel not important. Change the name. Marylou Baracco Chatsworth
George J Pokorny April 18, 2012 at 12:51 AM
I agree 100% with marylou, we do not like being second, change please. George

I read the ChatsworthPatch daily. It always provides me with good current information. I reside in Northridge and I am thrilled that ChatsworthPatch has expanded its horizon.

i agree. and when it was just chatsworth, it felt more like a community. of course i shop in northridge and porter ranch, both of which should have their own paper. and i would subscribe to both, also. but already we're being diluted as a community --i am not driving to northridge to buy the "best cup of coffee in chatsworth." i want to discover more and more about chatsworth. i can find what i'm looking for anywhere in LA, that's wasn't the attraction to the patch. i was the opportunity to feel more and more connected to where i live. very disappointing.
Joseph April 18, 2012 at 09:47 PM
Very well summarized, my thoughts exactly @Shepherd sands
Laura Lee-Stewart April 19, 2012 at 12:14 AM
How about including Granada Hills, too. We sort of flow one into another here in the north valley. chatsworth should stay first because they were here first.
Joanna Lynn April 19, 2012 at 07:29 AM
Been a happy reader of Chatsworth Patch and so sorry we have to share the name title. Please give us our title back I know it sounds silly but Northrige and Porter Ranch should have their own Patch.

Excellent point! As a small business owner I'd like to see my company everywhere, but Chatsworth is where I am.

Tried to log into chatsworth.patch.com and it took me straight to Northridge.patch.com

Joseph, Whether you log on to chatsworth.patch.com or northridge.patch.com you will end up right here at Northridge-Chatsworth Patch.

I haven't been able to leave my comments since the name changes.

Can you create a separate northridge.patch.com from chatsworth.patch.com. I can get the valley news by logging onto the Daily News e-edition. The whole idea of a local community paper may have been lost with the expansion. I have always enjoyed Chatsworth Patch...but won't feel as connected now that it is a much larger area than Chatsworth, my home town.
Phil Indeblanc April 23, 2012 at 07:15 PM
I think it's nice that Chatsworth can absorb Northridge(or vice versa), and of course Porter Ranch. I can see how some folks want it to be micro local to only Chatsworth, but really, the 3 areas are so dependent on each other, and interrelated, that it makes good sense. I wouldn't go as far as including Granda Hills. That's just too east. I do think it should be Chatsworth-Northridge Patch, by the simple rule to alphabetize...Even if Northridge is more populated or larger( is it?). Great time to list some city facts...perhaps that can be a perm page in some section, if not already. Does this mean we can include Lum Ka Nad in the Thai food pole :-P

I agree with Ann. I am NOT okay with adding Northridge to our Chatsworth Patch. It is insulting to our town to rename our newspaper and to put Northridge first. Who came up with this bright idea?
Diana Dixon-Davis April 25, 2012 at 08:09 AM
Chatsworth Patch expanded to pick up Northridge, not the reverse!!! The Chatsworth community has always had a very distinct and unique identity--- and its boundaries are well recognized---Santa Susana Mountains, Oat Mountain and the Simi Hills on the West; with Corbin Avenue on the East and Roscoe and Chatsworth Nature preserve on the South. This geographic definition is further extended by the Chumash Native American sites, the homestead history, and lastly the equestrian and western heritage / life style we are trying to preserve. In contrast, Northridge despite CSUN, is more an extension of the San Fernando Valley's urban cultural mix of single family housing , limited dense apartments by the university and on transportation routes and small businesses and occasional malls. Most Northridge residents would find it difficult to describe all 4 of its boundaries.
Helen S. Murphy April 25, 2012 at 01:49 PM
I agree, Chatsworth should come first. "C" comes before "N".
Diane B. April 26, 2012 at 10:40 AM
I agree also that Chatsworth should be first and then Northridge. I like the idea of the flow into Porter Ranch and Northridge, but it was Chatsworth Patch first. There is a certain pride in Chatsworth and I felt sad to see Northridge upstaging our special city. I'll bett ya all our equestrian folks would agree.
30secondstomars April 27, 2012 at 05:15 AM
SO what about it Saul....are you hearing the input ?..change the name to Chatsworth-Northridge Patch...after all Chatsworth is first alphabetically, first to have become a city and was the first focus of this Patch.
PB April 28, 2012 at 03:25 AM
Saul keep up the good job. Whether the name is Chatsworth-Northridge, or Northridge-Chatsworth keep up the good job. It's the material that counts!
Carol N. Hart May 08, 2012 at 12:39 AM
A friend of mine just told me about this. I'm a stone's throw from Northridge in a crazy, gerrymandered section of North Hills near Balboa & Devonshire. I looked but North Hills Patch covers North Hills, Pennsylvania! I think you should cover the whole NW San Fernando Valley and do us all a huge favor. Think local economy; we really are your neighbors! This is where I prefer to live, work, and shop! Carol H
