San Fernando Valley Leaders of Character

Join the Boy Scouts of America for the San Fernando Valley Leaders of Character awards dinner on Saturday, Oct. 2.

At the awards reception, the Scouts will recognize men and women who have distinguished themselves in professional and civic accomplishments in the Valley, and raise funds to support the Boy Scouts of America in the Valley.

The honorees for 2010 are Councilman Dennis Zine, CBS sportscaster and former NFL player Jim Hill, and community leaders George Savin, Bonnie Marie Bursk and Jean Jouck.

Nearly 18,000 young people are involved in Scouting in Western Los Angeles County every year, contributing more than 50,000 hours of community service. Scouting teaches young people confidence, new skills, leadership, teamwork and community service, and offers kids friendship and adventure.
