PathPoint Celebration of Progress Annual Luncheon

LA County Supervisor Michael Antonovich to Lead PathPoint’s
Annual Celebration of Progress

October 30 event
honors achievements by program participants with disabilities


PathPoint, a California-based non-profit organization that
provides comprehensive services and programs for people with disabilities since
1964, will be hosting its annual Celebration of Progress event on Wednesday,
October 30, 1PM-2:30PM at the Northridge Methodist Church along 9650 Reseda
Blvd. with Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Michael Antonovich as
its featured guest and keynote speaker. 


"My commitment to public
safety and responsive representation for the past 30 years as a County
Supervisor extends especially to our community members who have disabilities
and disadvantages,” says Antonovich. “I have been a long-time supporter of
PathPoint and its services and programs that provide invaluable training and
access to employment opportunities for people to overcome physical or
developmental disabilities and succeed in life, independently.”

Antonovich is the most
senior-serving member of the Los Angeles County Board of
Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, including
the Antelope ValleySanta ClaritaPasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys.


PathPoint’s Celebration of
Progress is an annual luncheon and awarding ceremony that honors the
achievements of its program participants. PathPoint’s program participants are
acknowledged for their accomplishments even with disabilities such as cerebral
palsy, epilepsy, autism, and Down syndrome, among others. Prizes and
certificates are also given out at the event.



“Our goal is to encourage
and provide support to individuals with disabilities and disadvantages through collaborative engagement among them and their families, community,  and local and county service providers,” says Marielle
DeFazio, PathPoint’s Vice President and Director of Los Angeles and

Ventura counties. “PathPoint’s Celebration of Progress event is a validation to the
success of these individuals with the support of their families and friends,
the community, and public officials such as County Supervisor Michael

Antonovich.



Other guests at the event include LA
County Superior Court Efrain Ruiz, UCLA Health CEO Dr. David Feinberg, Wood
Ranch Restaurant co-Founder Eric Anders, and Red Lobster General Manager
Dimitra Samponis.

PathPoint’s Celebration
of Progress is a culmination of a month-long observance of October’s National
Disability Employment Awareness (NDEA) Month. The nonprofit organization’s
celebration of NDEA include activities in Olive Garden Restaurant, Jet Hawks
Stadium, Bear Mountain Ranch, Southern California Fight Factory (MMA), Sam’s
Club, Antelope Valley College, Nickelodeon, Hooves & Paws Animal Rescue,  and Antelope Valley Courthouse.
