Community Corner

Building Community One Breakfast at a Time

Our Community School (OCS) invites local business owners, politicians
and community members to its Community Building Breakfast for a complimentary
breakfast and to learn about Our Community School and how they can help build
community involvement both on and off campus.

Guests will enjoy a complimentary breakfast while Student Ambassadors
from a variety of grade levels mingle with them and share some of their OCS
experiences. Afterwards, guests will receive a campus tour by our Student
Ambassadors and then participate in a short presentation by our Principal.  We want our kids to be critical thinkers.
What better way than to get involved in mutually beneficial relationships with
a variety of community leaders? Classroom learning is important, but hands-on
learning is just as crucial. With our breakfasts, kids can practice their
leadership skills with valued role models, and the outside community can get an
inside track into young minds of the future – minds that will be our future
leaders. It’s a win-win for everyone! Our goal is to create a school that has a
strong impact on its local community by getting the community involved, interested,
and supportive of what we do here on campus and in turn getting our school
involved, interested and supportive in our community.

Guests are also encouraged to become Table Captains for these events
and fill a table with 5 guests that they think might be interested in learning
more about OCS. Table Captains will also receive a special recognition at the
breakfast they bring their guests to.
