Small Quake Hits Deep Under Santa Monica Bay

Magnitude-2.0 bump was 6 miles off Marina Del Rey.

A small earthquake rattled deep below Santa Monica Bay today, according to automated seismographs operated by the USGS.

The magnitude 2.0 miniquake burbled 12.3 miles below the surface of the ocean, and was epicentered 6 miles off Marina Del Rey. It hit at 10:32 a.m.

The quake was not reported as felt by any people to the USGS reporting site.
