Skirball Bridge Demolition Closes 405 for 2 Weeks

Metro closes the 405 Freeway nightly for two weeks while crews demolish the southern portion of the Skirball Bridge.

Crews will begin preparing to demolish the south half of the Skirball Bridge Tuesday night, which will require closures of the 405 Freeway each night for two weeks, according to Metro.

Ramps in the construction zone will close as early as 7 p.m. and all closures will remain in effect until 6 a.m. each day.

  • The southbound lanes of the 405 will be closed between the 101 Freeway and Getty Center Drive beginning at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Monday, July 30.
  • The northbound lanes of the 405 between Getty Center Drive and Ventura Boulevard will closed starting at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, July 31 and Aug. 1-3.
  • The Skirball Bridge will be closed nightly beginning at 10 p.m. on Monday through Aug. 3.
