Here's What's Open, What's Closed on New Year's Day

There will be no trash collection until Wednesday.

Government offices, courts, schools, libraries, banks and post offices will be closed Tuesday in observance of New Year's Day.

There will be no trash collection in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation. Trash collection will resume Wednesday.

Metro buses will operate on a Sunday schedule, but all rail lines and the Metro Orange Line will operate around the clock to accommodate people going to the Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl football game.

Specific schedules for bus lines can be found on Metro's website at www.metro.net. Normal operations will resume Wednesday.

Metrolink will only provide service on the Antelope Valley and San Bernardino lines. The Antelope Valley Line will run on a Sunday schedule. The San Bernardino Line will run on a modified Sunday schedule, offering an early morning route for people heading to the Rose Parade. online at www.foothilltransit.org or by calling (800) 743-3463.
