5 Things You Need to Know Today

Breathe easy -- Metro is retiring its last diesel bus to make way for a fully alternatively fueled fleet, the only one of its kind in the world.

  1. On Wednesday at 10 a.m., Los Angeles will officially have the only fully alternatively fuled bus fleet worldwide. Metro will make a clean and completely green start in this new year when it retires its last diesel bus.
  2. Apparently, gas prices just wanted to see if we were paying attention. Prices for gas resumed their slow uphill climb today due to increased crude oil costs. The ARCO station at 9500 De Soto Ave., however, is still holding steady at $3.15 per gallon of regular gas.
  3. Celebrate the fact that you've made it through half the week with some Salsa music and dancing on Wednesday at The Odyssey Restaurant. Iliana Rose will have you feeling the rhythm when she performs with her trio from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Odyssey is located in Granada Hills at 15600 Odyssey Drive.
