3.3 Quake Rattles Los Angeles

No fires or damage reported to authorities.

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake rattled Los Angeles early Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of damage, authorities said.

The earthquake, about 13 miles south of the Los Angeles Civic Center, occurred at 12:36 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The L.A. County Fire Department reported no calls regarding fires or damage from the earthquake, according to dispatch supervisor Robert Diaz.

The city fire department completed a damage assessment over the greater Los Angeles area shortly after 2 a.m. and found there were no injuries or damage reported from the quake, said LAFD spokesman Matt Spence.
