Firestat LA Featured at LA Chamber's Innovation and Technology Council...

This week, I was proud to speak at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce's Innovation and technology Council on FIRESTAT LA and the integration of technology into our City's public safety departments. 

As Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, I authored FIRESTAT LA to develop a comprehensive real-time system for the Fire Department modeled after the LAPD’s highly successful COMPSTAT. FIRESTAT LA will employ cutting-edge technology and innovative management techniques to make the best Fire Department in the country even better.

Since 2002, LAPD's COMPSTAT has applied technology and management accountability techniques to dramatically reduce crime. Like COMPSTAT, FIRESTAT LA will use near-real-time data collection and mapping of incidents to deploy concentrated resources. There will be a cycle of constant assessment and communication of results, with frequent meetings and open dialogues among all levels of management. Results will be immediately analyzed and the data will be used to continuously seek management efficiency and make improvements.

Since 1888, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has championed the needs of the business community and served as a vehicle to attract new business to California.
