The glass is gleaming, the brass is polished and the construction debris is being swept away.
The new Yard House restaurant at Northridge Fashion Center is set to open Sunday, Dec. 2, and the staff is being trained in preparation.
Beginning in 1996 as a single restaurant on the Long Beach waterfront, there are now operations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
Each features a center island bar and a long array of tap handles ranging from classic lagers to more obscure ales. The glass-enclosed keg room houses as much as 5,000 gallons of beer at a time.
The American-fusion menu offers more than 130 items including appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, street tacos, grilled burgers, individual-size pizzas, seafood, steaks and ribs. There's a Kids Klub healthy menu, too.
The interior displays colorful abstract artwork, the sound of classic rock music and flat screen TVs.
