Organic Baby Spinach Recalled

Taylor Farms has recalled Private Selection Organic Baby Spinach, which is sold at Ralphs grocery stores in California.

Organic baby spinach sold at Ralphs is being recalled over salmonella concerns, according to a news release posted by the Food and Drug Administration earlier this week.

Though no illnesses have been reported, Taylor Farms Retail Inc. out of Salinas, Calif., initiated the recall of Private Selection-branded organic baby spinach after a random sample tested positive for the organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and people with weakened immune systems.

Recalled products include Private Selection Organic Baby Spinach sold in a five-ounce containers at Ralphs grocery stores in California. Packages affected by the recall have UPC No. 0-11110-91128-5, package codes TFRS 130B/1503 KT34 and TFRS 130B/1803 KT34, and a best by date of May 25.
