New Businesses Are Opening In Northridge, and They're Hiring

Long-vacant storefronts are starting to fill.

Robert Kleinhenz, chief economist with the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp., recently told an area business forum that 2013 should be the year when businesses finally start to feel the economy turning around.

Big Lots! is moving into the spot formerly occupied by discounter Marshalls at 8960 Tampa Ave. And they're hiring.

Over at the Northridge Fashion Center, 9301 Tampa Ave., construction work is moving ahead rapidly on the Elephant Bar restaurant where On the Border once held sway. And they're hiring.

To the east, the Northridge Suit Outlet has opened a bright new free-standing store at 10141 Reseda Blvd. where O'Reilly Auto Parts once operated.
