Gasoline Prices Are Still Declining

Here's what Chatsworth-area stations are charging. Have you seen a better local price?

The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell this weekend for the 24th consecutive day, dropping nine-tenths of a cent to $3.654, the lowest amount since Feb. 24.

The average price is 7.1 cents less than one week ago and 21.5 cents lower than a month ago but 48.6 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped 21.2 cents over the past 24 days, including 1.9 cents on Saturday.

The decreasing prices are the result of lower demand, which is typical for the fall, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
