Gasoline Price Declines for 24th Day
'Drivers should be able to find stations charging less than $4 a gallon,' auto club says.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased Friday for the 24th consecutive day, falling 3.3 cents to $4.092, one day after dropping 3.7 cents.
The average price has fallen 61.3 cents over the past 24 days after rising 50.4 cents over the previous seven days and reaching a record high of $4.705, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 22.1 cents less than it was one week ago and 10.9 cents lower than one month ago but 22.5 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price decreased Friday for the 25th consecutive day, falling 3 cents to $4.039, 23.6 cents less than one week ago and 13.8 cents lower than one month ago but 19.7 cents higher than one year ago
The Orange County average price has decreased 65.1 cents over the past 25 days, including 3.9 cents on Thursday, after rising 51.3 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.69.

Despite the dropping prices, the average price in both Los Angeles and Orange counties were at record highs for early November.
"We're encouraging drivers to continue to aggressively shop for the lowest possible gas prices," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California. "In most local areas, drivers should be able to find stations charging less than $4 a gallon."
