It's Kickin' at The Cowboy Palace With New Bands for the Fall

This Western saloon wants to be your second home, with new acts and weekly talent competitions.

Featured in more than 20 films and television shows, the Cowboy Palace is exactly what Chatsworth is all about: a down-home bar mixing a classic Western feel with contemporary fare.

A favorite of both residents and Western stuntmen, the bar has been in its Devonshire location for more than 30 years.  Priding itself on being country from day one, the saloon is as traditional as it gets.  Featuring a hitching post in the back with 12 horse tie-ups, an all-wood bar and live country music seven nights out of the week, the Cowboy Palace is the perfect place to grab a beer and unwind.

This fall, the old-time saloon gets a breath of fresh air with a number of new acts taking the stage.  Kicking September off are the Doo-Wah Riders, a high-energy country band with a Cajun twist. This month we also get introduced to Miguel Garcia and the Vaquetones, as well as the Rip Masters.

If you are looking to break into show business, then show up to the Cowboy Palace on Monday nights for a chance to showcase your talent and win cash prizes.  With a live band provided by the saloon, you can pull on your boots and sing your heart out to a panel of judges.  Winners of the competition have gone on to sing at the Grand Ole Opry and toured overseas.

Line dancing lessons are also available free of charge, Monday through Saturday at 7 p.m.  Learn to do the Cotton-Eyed Joe, Ten-Step, Two-Step, Electric Slide and many more.  Don't have a partner?  No worries; they will pair you up and get you ready to boogie.

Sunday nights at 5 p.m., the bar transforms into a family style BBQ with tri-tip and burgers on the grill, served with all of the fixin's.  A favorite of William Shatner, Jon Voight and Lou Diamond Phillips, the Cowboy Palace is not only a historical favorite of the community, but also a happening place to hang.
