Iconic 'Lone Ranger' Costumes Heading to Auction

A piece of Chatsworth cinematic history is soon heading to the auction block.

Three of the iconic outfits donned by Clayton Moore in the TV western series The Lone Ranger, which aired from 1949-57 and was filmed locally, will be up for bids on Saturday courtesy of Brian Lebel’s Old West Auction, located in Denver.

Two of the suits were threaded by Nudies Rodeo Tailors while the third was made by noted designer Manuel.

Dawn Moore, daughter of the show's star, is parting with the memorabilia in order to make the auction possible.

"His wishes were always for me to keep whatever was particularly meaningful to me and then to offer the rest to be enjoyed by fans and collectors," she said in a statement from the auction house.

Also up for bid are other Lone Ranger items like holsters, bullets and comics.
