Colt Bike Ride, Depot Art Show This Sunday

Cycling and fine art will cross paths this weekend at the Chatsworth Metrolink Depot during two local events.

The annual Depot Art Show is being held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will showcase works by several San Fernando Valley artists. There will also be live music by one-man-band Michael Stine as well as a children's art project booth.

The event is free.

Also kicking off from the depot is Ride the Colt, a community bicycle rally that will follow the path of the recently extended Metro Orange Line in a 19-mile loop.

Showing off some of the new street pavement markings is one of the goals of the event, said board of directors members Matthew Weintraub.

"The main goal is first to introduce, local cyclists to the relatively new infrastructure the city has created for cyclists in the valley," he said.

The bike rally is free and complimentary snacks and even some bicycle repairs will be available. There will also be a free raffle.

Meetup is at 9 a.m.
