This Weather Is for the Birds

Temperatures plunge as early-season rain arrives. Expect a warming trend on Thursday.

A little more than a week ago the official Chatsworth thermometer hit a scorching 111 degrees.  But now temperatures have plunged.  At 6 p.m. today, we were at a soggy 60 degrees.  And this storm brought .63 inches of rain to the area. Because the storm is the first of the significant one of the season, runoff is expect to foul coastal waters for a couple of days, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters, however, said the skies should clear Thursday, and weekend temperatures should
be in the 80s. But rain or shine, the birds seem to like it at nearby Balboa Lake.
