Sherwood Forest Gets Own Mailing Address

They asked and they did receive. Thanks to an act of U.S. Congress, the Northridge neighborhood of Sherwood Forest now has its own mailing address.

Last year, the active Sherwood Forest Homeowner's Association petitioned the city for the distinction. On Monday, Rep. Brad Sherman announced that letters to the 1,200-home community can be addressed to "Sherwood Forest, 91325," though "Northridge, 91325" would still be acceptable.

"The large tree-lined tract homes in this newly named community give it the distinction that has been recognized by the City of Los Angeles and the federal government,” said Sherman.

Councilman Mitch Englander echoed similar sentiments.

"The designation of a zip code will not only ensure that residents receive their mail quickly and efficiently but will also provide the residents of the new ‘Sherwood Forest, 91325’ a unique sense of community,” he said.

Sherwood Forest is home to 4,800 residents.
