The Los Angeles Public Library Northridge Branch presents "Another David: The Story of Mickey Marcus" on Jan. 25, starting at 1 p.m., at the library.

The play is about David "Mickey" Marcus who was Israel's first modern general, portrayed by actor Arnold Weiss.

"Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marcus was a graduate of West Point and fought for both the United States and Israel, becoming a high-ranking official in both armies. He was killed by friendly fire, when he was mistaken for an enemy infiltrator while returning to Israeli positions at night," according to the library.

Marcus was portrayed in the 1966 Hollywood movie "Cast a Giant Shadow" by Kirk Douglas.
