Northridge Hospital Gives Tips on Flu Prevention

The hospital suggests washing hands and getting the flu shot are the most important steps.

The Northridge Hospital Medical Center published useful tips and information on preventing the flu this season.

The hospital states that keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps to take in order to prevent the flu. Also, getting the flu shot each season is another important factor.

"Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean, running water. If clean, running water is not accessible, as is common in many parts of the world, use soap and available water. If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to clean hands," according to the hospital.

For current updates and more flu information, the hospital suggests to visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Flu.gov.
