The very popular 1960’s , “Stand By Me” by King, Leiber, and Stoller was inspired by the spiritual “Lord Stand by Me”. With over 400 recorded versions, the melody with chord progression and lyrics have remained popular over three generations.
Emeli Sande of Britain recently gained all sorts of recognition with her “Next to Me”. The dramatic presentation and easy to remember chorus “Next to Me” apparently has struck and impacted another generation with the need to affirm the value of unconditional love and loyalty. “You won’t find him drinking …you won’t find him being unfaithful….”

A short political cycle is upon the West San Fernando Valley due to the vacancy of the 45th State Assembly Seat. (Apparently Bob Blumenfield found reason to NOT stand by his election and candidacy of November and instead sought a council seat in Los Angeles). Nevertheless, it opened the door for candidates…..11 to be accurate to run for a 1 year term.

Seven Democrats are vying to inherit the seat, of which at least four already have a paycheck, pension, benefits, etc from PERS, State, County, or Federal, agencies. Three Republicans are also running; including the sole candidate from November. Kolski garnered 40% of the primary vote and 36% in the run-off. And rounding out the eleven candidates is one lone no-party-affiliation.
The express and consistent loyalty of a candidate to stated beliefs, ideals, party principals, community, family, and honor is vague or missing in many slick sound-bites and slate-mailers carefully orchestrated in marketing a campaign.
I wonder how many endorsements are based on a “stand by me” or “next to me” loyalty. In other words: I have known and worked with you and will attest you are the same on-and-off the job for the past 28 years. I will work on your campaign, walk the precincts, phone, etc.
Chris Kolski has been in the community for over 28 years. He has remained married to his wife, raised his four children, been employed in the private sector as an engineer and educator, and has been an active member in civic organizations, Church, and the community,
Chris Kolski volunteered to help property owners afford to live in their homes as they grew older: AKA Proposition 13. He has been continuously active to lower taxes and elect candidates who would keep businesses solvent, immigration at a traditional and safe balance, and educating young people to have skills and a career.
In fact, an intact relic yard sign, recently found from his days as a volunteer, for Proposition 13 is waiting to be framed and then offered as part of a campaign fund raiser at his website: http://www.VoteKolski.com
The Republican Party local Assembly Districts within San Fernando Valley have each endorsed Chris Kolski. His own district: 45th Assembly of the LAGOP and neighboring 46th and 39th Assembly. All local grassroots endorsements, people willing to STAND BY CHRIS, and walk for him. They have heard his story as an immigrant coming from a country which imprisoned his father as he sought freedom and know Chris Kolski is loyal to the US Constitution and therefore is running for the 45th Assembly to benefit the community. http://www.VoteKolski.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q9-O6hQCms
