Community Corner

Send Videos and Messages of Thanks to our Veterans!

The community is being encouraged to either create short videos or send in Valentines Day Thank You cards of appreciation to 40 military veterans and their spouses/partners from Los Angeles/San Gabriel who will be honored at a pre-Valentine’s Day event. The videos of thanks must be received no later than February 1 so that they can be organized into a multi-media production. The thank you cards can be received right up to February 13. The public is invited to a “Meet the Heroes” event on Thursday, February 13 where they can meet the veterans. All proceeds from the $50 per person ticket price will be donated to the nonprofit Wounded Warriors Project. This event is limited to the first 100 guests who sign up. All videos and expressions of thanks should be submitted to: Ron Hobbs c/o Castle Catering, 50 E. Green St., Pasadena, CA. 91105 or emailed to ron@castlecatering.net. For more information call (626) 792-4444.

The event is being sponsored by Stonefire Grill, which is catering the dinner that follows the “Meet the Heroes” reception, and Castle Catering, which is producing and providing the venue for the event.

“Oftentimes, returning veterans struggle with the challenge to reintegrate into regular, daily family life,” said Ron Hobbs, owner of Castle Catering. “We hope that this community event will serve to show them our appreciation and let them know they are not forgotten."

"We are looking forward to working together to raise some much-needed funds for Wounded Warrior,” said Justin Lopez, spokesperson for Stonefire Grill.
