FREE COMMUNITY EVENT!

The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and to encourage citizens to read for pleasure and enlightenment. They hold events centered around a specific novel. The NEA in partnership with The Museum of the San Fernando Valley and the Department of Cultural Affairs present: 

Song of India: A Celebration of Indian Culture 

Based on the novel: The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri

An afternoon of Indian music, dance, and poetry at the romantic Rancho del Cordillera del Norte. Choose from a delightful variety of foods and adventures from an afternoon tea with spice cakes, to the voices of ancient manuscripts. 

Enjoy a beautiful North San Fernando Valley sunset while experiencing an evening of Indian cultural performances.
