Learn to Strike a Spark the Chumash Way

Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park presents the second class in the Adult Education Series.

Interested in learning about how the Chumash made fire without the use of matches or lighters? Hint: it is very difficult, but builds upon skills taught in February’s cordage class.

The Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park is pleased to present the second class in our Adult Education Series.

Come to our bow and hand drill class. This hands-on experience will be taught by local expert and naturalist Dr. Kent Christenson.
