Great Escape: Test Kitchen Inspired Series Pops Up at Short Order for One Night Only

Celebrated Los Angeles Chefs and Mixologists Design a Burger Fueled Menu with Cocktails to Match

 

You might want to venture over the hill and take a casual great escape to Short Order at The Original Farmers Market on February 25 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. when it launches its monthly Test Kitchen-inspired series, through which celebrated chefs from the Los Angeles area offer their signature dishes (with a focus on, but not limited to, burgers) for the late-night crowd.

Participating chefs will be hosted by Short Order's Christian Page, and includes the 818’s own Adam Horton and mixologist Adam Parke from Studio City's Raphael; Walter Manzke (Republique), Kris Morningstar (Ray's & Stark Bar), and Ori Menashe (Bestia). Other mixlologists behind the bar are Short Order’s Julian Cox, Daniel Warrilow (Son of a Gun) and Paul Sanguinetti (Ray's & Stark Bar) who will all prepare fun, off-the-menu cocktails for the evening.

The Special Test Kitchen menu from the respective chefs include: Chef Kris Morningstar — Burger:  Flavor Burger #6 with beef, house made mortadella bites, moroccan beets with spiced pistachio crunch and yogurt and mint; Chef Walter Manzke —Burger: Vietnamese Pork Burger with pickled radish, spicy sauce. Special Sides: taleggio cheese beignets, honey aioli and vegetable crudites, anchovy and herb dip; Chef Adam Horton — Burger: Korean BBQ Burger with flavors of galbi, kimchi aioli. Special Sides: Quinoa Croquettes, remoulade + Som Tam Slaw, kohlrabi, jicama and market vegetables; Chef Ori Menashe—Burger: The Italian with aged beef, porcini mustard, parmesan aioli, wild arugula, crispy pancetta, oven dried tomato. Special Sides: Crispy Polenta Fries; Chef Christian Page— Burger: "Filet o' Fish" with sand dab, tartar sauce, American cheese. Special Sides: LA Dog + Scotch Egg + Spuds "Poutine".

Burgers are $14-18 and special sides are $5-$12. All special menu items are  available a la carte.

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are suggested for table service. For reservations email testkitchen@shortorderla.com including requested reservation time, contact name and number and number in the party. Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
