UPDATE: Chatsworth High Principal Suspended, His Accounts Are Under Investigation

LAUSD spokesperson calls it a personnel matter.

Timothy Guy, principal of Chatsworth High School, has been placed on paid administrative leave. The faculty learned of his suspension Monday when an announcement was placed in their staff mailboxes, Chatsworth Patch was told.

The suspension from his $120,000 a year job was called a confidential personnel matter by Monica Carazo, communications officer for the Los Angeles Unified School District, although she confirmed Wednesday that an investigation is in progress.

Some school staff members were told only that there was a "paperwork problem," and retired principal Penny Gwin was being put in charge of the Chatsworth campus.

The Los Angeles Times was reporting Thursday that police are investigating Guy's financial accounts at both Chatsworth High and Kennedy High in Granada Hills where he previously worked.  Guy was assistant principal at Kennedy High from 2002 to 2007.

It was not immediately clear whether any funds were missing, the Times reported.

Attempts to reach Guy were unsuccessful. No one at the office of School Board Member Tamar Galatzan would comment. Chatsworth High School falls within Galatzan's district. She is currently campaigning for re-election to the LAUSD board.

Dan Issacs of the Associated Administrators of Los Angeles, which represents middle managers employed by the LAUSD, declined to comment, calling Guy's "reassignment" a personnel matter.

The school has an enrollment of about 3,180 students and 117 classroom teachers, according to a recent report.

The incompetent principal at John F. Kennedy is the cause for all this. As you know, Mr. Guy was the assistant principal at John F. Kennedy before being promoted to Chatsworth as their principal. The issue at hand is Mr. Guy was linked to Kennedy’s accounts and should have been taken off the accounts three years ago following his promotion. All principals have access to their school accounts. Mr. Guy deposited the Kennedy account money into Chatsworth’s student body account not knowing it belong to Kennedy because why would he even be linked to John F. Kennedy’s money after three years. Sounds like John F. Kennedy’s staff is to blame or LAUSD for the lack of being able to keep track of their accounts. All of the $56,000 was deposited into Chatsworth student body account and nothing was taken for any personal gain by Mr. Guy or any other individuals. LAUSD, here’s how you fix the problem, have Chatsworth student body write John F. Kennedy a check for $56,000 since non of the money was spent. Bring back Mr. Guy as principal and learn how to manage your accounts better. I see why our kids funds are so jacked up!

I think that all this is a bunch of nonsense who ever knew mr. Guy would know that he would never do such a thing and the fact that this person^ is trying to blame the cougar family is really funny (chatsworth) because they have nothing to do with poor little chatsworth haha so if anything I think that the lapd should investigate and prove to all those who pointed their fingers that they were wrong! But til than we can just hope that, that day comes soon because the cougar family misses mr. Guy and I think he should go back to a place where he is appreciated.
