UPDATE: Missing 10-Year-Old Northridge Girl Found in Woodland Hills

Update: 5:15 p.m.: Nicole Ryan, the 10-year-old girl who went missing from her Northridge home early Wednesday morning was reported seen by a female witness who had watched news reports of her disappearance.

The witness called 911 and within about two minutes, a patrol officer arrived and then was able to confirm the girl, located near the intersection of Oxnard Street and Canoga Avenue in Woodland Hills, was the missing child.

According to Officer Sally Madera of the Los Angeles Police Department, Ryan did not appear to have any major injuries.

"At first site you can't see anything. She just had some minor bruising and minor cuts," Madera said. "We are unaware of how she got those right now because the investigation's still unfolding."

As of now, the department has no suspect.

"We are unaware of what happened or how it happened," because the investigation is still in the early stages, Madera said.

Once Ryan is medically cleared, police will have the opportunity to ask her questions about the incident.

As of 4:45 p.m., traffic on Oxnard Street just east of Canoga Avenue was blocked.

Update: 3:10 p.m.: The 10-year-old girl who was reported missing from her family's Northridge home Wednesday has been found in Woodland Hills. KCAL9 reports that Nicole Ryan was found barefoot near a strip mall at Canoga Avenue and Oxnard Street about six miles from her home. She was wearing a white T-shirt instead of the black shirt she was last seen wearing, according to the Los Angeles Times. She was taken to West Hills Hospital & Medical Center according to KNBC4.

The location where she was found was originally listed as Canoga Park.

Update, 1:30 p.m.: The FBI joined the search Wednesday for a 10-year-old Northridge girl discovered missing from her bed during the night. Police are calling it a "critical missing" situation and are examining security video from adjoining residences.

The FBI was assisting the LAPD in the investigation, said Laura Eimiller of the FBI.

"Detectives were seen going door to door in the neighborhood in search of the girl. Officers spent extra time at a home where a registered sex offender lives, looking through trash cans and a backyard shed," according to KABC7.

Earlier story: Police are searching Wednesday for a 10-year-old Northridge girl who disappeared from her home in the 8800 block of Oakdale Street in Northridge during the night.

Nicole Ryan is white, 4 feet 11, about 100 pounds, and has long red hair, police said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the girl's mother saw her in her room about 1 a.m., but when she went into the girl's room about 3:30 a.m., the child was gone and the woman called police, LAPD Capt. Daryl Russell told Fox 11.

There were no indications of foul play, and nothing had happened to prompt the child to run away, Russell said.

Anyone who knows the child's whereabouts is urged to call police at 911.
