No, I despise drunk drivers but we need to appoint judges that will enforce existing laws. How manyRead More times have we heard of a drunk driver killing someone only to find out they had a dozen priors but were out among us? As for the airheads that want to go after corporations that are making legal products... just another typical liberal evasion of personal responsibility. We already provide for the prosecution of those who continue to serve patrons beyond the point of intoxication.

Absolutely. And, as far as I am concerned, if so many folks take the civil route, going after theRead More deep pockets of third parties, then ABI (and the corportation which makes whatever the DUI driver was drinking) should also be civilly liable.

What were they smoking before they crunched the numbers? Is there some spreadsheet error we don't yet know about? Are they confusing apples with oranges? Sheesh! I used to take Metrolink when I worked, but I wouldn't exactly call it convenient nor inexpensive. Short trip to the train station, but.......and no, my employer did not kick in any $ like so many others did. That's life.

This study suffers from a classic error. It assumes that access translates into a job--which isRead More often not the case. Because of high housing costs, many Angelinos can not afford to move and thus select long commutes over moving to a higher rent/ purchasing a new home nearer the job. There is also a second self selection re commutes-- individuals will stay with a job close by, even if it means giving up raises or advancement to avoid excessive commutes or finding new housing.
